Castaway Island, Fiji voted in the Top 10 Resorts for Families by Holidays for Kids readers.

Australian family travel magazine, Holidays with Kids, holds an annual vote to find the top 10 resorts in specific travel categories. The award winners are nominated by the magazine’s readers (600,000 readership). Castaway Island, Fiji has been voted in the Top 10 Resorts for Families category for 2011.

For the third year running, Castaway Island, Fiji has been voted into the Top Ten Resorts for Families category by the readers of the Australian family travel magazine, Holidays with Kids.

Holidays with Kids, Established  1997, is the highest-circulating family travel magazine in Australia that goes to both travel agents and consumers. The magazine’s readership is in excess of 600,000.

Castaway Island’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Karen Marvell, explains the value of the award to Castaway and to Fiji Tourism,

“This is an exciting award for Castaway and for Fiji. The family travel market is a huge slice of Fiji tourism business. The awards are based on readership votes rather than a judging committee so to be voted into the top 10 is a huge honour for us. We are only a small island – 66 bures – which means less families have experienced Castaway in comparison to the larger 300 room resorts. It’s exciting that our votes still stacked up against the bigger properties. “

The magazine, Holidays with Kids and its online version, is the authority on family travel and provides information to television, national press, ninemsn and radio, on family holidays, destinations and trends.

The top 10 awards are held annually and are based on votes from a readership base of over 600,000
