Our beautiful Fiji island accommodation is the perfect place to base yourself for your next Fiji surf tour holiday. Surfing Tours can be organised to Wilkes Passage, Swimming Pool, Namotu Left, Namotu Right, Cloudbreak and Desperation - Prices for touring range from $100-$140 per person.
If you’re the only one in your family or holiday party who has a passion for surfing you can surf the day away (without guilt that you’re indulging in ‘me’ time!) in some of the best surf spots in Fiji while everyone else stays happy on our gorgeous island resort – Contact the island direct for more information on enquiries@castawayfiji.com.fj
Surfboard size recommendation – If you’re bringing your own surfboard it is suggested larger boards are the way to go. 6’10? to 7? 6? is a good bet. It is a powerful reef surf, so small boards are no go unless you are very experienced. Bigger is usually better but not too big:)
Here’s some great Fiji surfing shots by Maddie Shaw taken on an island safari tour on the Teivovo – Castaway’s speed boat.

Bula
I will be at Castaway very soon from the 28 June through to the 1 July!
What break are the photos above taken at as these look fine!
I am an immediate level surfer and was wondering whether it would be worth bringing my board? (even thou the missus raised her eyebrows at me
plus we are down on the coral coast for 5 days at the Outrigger on the lagoon.
Would appreciate your advice. Thanks
Philip.
Hello,
I am thinking of planning a trip to Fiji. It mentions 3 persons required to go to Cloudbreak? If I am there for a week to ten days, could I expect the oppty to surf Cloudbreak and/or Restaurants a couple times? I will be going with my wife (she doesn’t surf). Does there need to be at least two other surfers on Castaway Island wanting to go for me to get a ride to some waves?
Thanks for any info on this,
Joe
Bula Joe!
We’ve just sent your query off to the Operations Manager to answer your question. Sorry you posted this 3 days ago – it went into our spam catcher and we just noticed it then – we’re onto it now! We’ll make sure we look after your wife while you’re indulging in a few waves! Vinaka!
BULA Joe!
Here’s your answer…
There is a minimum hire fee of the boat to transfer you to the surf breaks which is why we say 3 people+ at F$85 + taxes each. Our boat operator also services another Island Resort, so you can expect that between the two resorts, there will hopefully be a few surfers. The other option is of course to pay the minimum hire fee of F$255 + Fiji taxes and have sole use of the boat all to yourself!
If you need further information feel free to contact us on enquiries@castawyafiji.com.fj – VINAKA!
Hi,
My family and I are staying on Castaway later this month and I would like to surf whilst there.
Do you have or are you able to arrange board rental?
I figure it would be cheaper than paying the excess baggage to the airline.
Cheers,
Simon
Bula Simon! Sorry – we don’t hire surfboards from the island. It is probably best you bring your own. You’ll love the surf:) We look forward to welcoming you very soon – Vinaka!
